In Loving Memory

We made one of the hardest decisions any animal lover could make on December 6.  Our beloved mini dachshund boy, Trapper, had suffered a spinal cord injury and as a family, we decided to send him on to heaven.  He hurt his back in March and recovered about 90%.  I knew in the back of my mind that he would have a relapse at some point.  Well, one morning, Trapper had a hard time coming out of his crate to go outside.  My husband knew what was going on and took him in to our vet to make sure.  We decided to spend the night with him at home.  I think he knew what was happening and I think he was ready.  He never wimpered or anything, but I could see it in his eyes that he was miserable.  Our girl mini, Molly, wanted to play so bad.  She still cries for him at night, as I do, too.  The whole family misses him dearly.  We consider our pets family and it's so hard to lose them.  I miss you, Trapper.  May you be without the pain and suffering and may you jump from every bed and couch you can find in heaven.
